It wasn't long after I started teaching that I had a home built for Bridget, Kaylee, Megan and myself. We lived on Eldron Ave and there were only three houses on the street. Bridget had made a connection with a local church and signed the girls up for a summer camp at Lighthouse Baptist Church and they were really enjoying themselves I think they were about maybe seven and five at the time and I was just starting mt second year teaching. My only experience with church was the Catholic Church and it was a pretty strict deal as far as I was concerned. Well lighthouse was different than what I had experienced thus far in fact it was a fun place to be. But, it didn't start that way. If you recall when I moved to Florida I made myself a promise that I would never strike another man in violence again and this would soon be tested on the church grounds by the head man himself Pastor Phil. I met Pastor Phil under some very tense circumstances. I was picking the girls up from camp on day from camp and Pastor Phil must have got the word that I was a teacher at one of the local schools. And being the prankster that he is, he had a very clever trap set for me. I just happen to show up to pick up Kaylee and Megan during snocone time. He thought it would be funny to let some of my students make ice balls a pelt me with them. Well things got a little carried away and I found myself being attacked by about twenty or thirty kids with ice balls. So I can honestly tell you Pastor Phil is the First Guy I should have slapped in Florida but did not!!!!!!!!

I was a teacher now an held to a higher standard therefore I showed restraint, but boy did I want to punch that guy. All I could think was what is this guy thinking what if these students decide to throw something at me at school they would be suspeneded. Well I steered clear of lighthouse for awhile after that but then the summer was over and the lighthouse bus showed up at our home to pick the girls up for Sunday school once school started back up. I got to talking to the driver and he just happened to be the father of one of my current students that year. He was a cool guy and after three weeks of him coming by the house ever Sunday I decided we should all go together as a Family and that is how we began our time at Lighthouse Baptist Church. That was about 25 years ago and I still attend today. I still haven't slapped the pastor yet either.
