I am a lucky guy to have a pal like Jason he is my oldest friend. He has always hung in there for me and we have been best pals since we were six years old and of course we met because of football. Our dad's met through pop warner I think and as Jason will tell you our first meeting stunk. We were not on the same team different weights I think. As the story goes Jason's family hard a garden and we had horses well you guessed it they needed manure and we had an ample supply. Jason is the oldest of three siblings and his dad was a huge man that was very much like mine a tough no nonsense kid of guy. So he and his dad would come over ever so often to pick up horse shit and that's how we met. I of course loved his visits as I was an only child and company was always welcome. Jason's take is a little different he was not so thrilled as he had to shovel shit every time he came to my house. LOL
There are many stories to tell about my best pal Jason but what I will say about him is that he has always been there during my lowest points and never once judged me for my crazy antics. He is my only friend that I allow to call me David. Without Jason there would not be QUACKADELIK FISH SERIES. You see Jason is the best fisherman that you will meet in your lifetime. And being with him in a boat fishing is as close too paradise as you can get. I think he and his dad started taking me fishing around the age of 12, and those are some of my best memories. Especially ice fishing. There was a particular time it was just the three of us on a cold winter morning in the dark dragging our gear out on the ice and the wind was whipping and Jason and I were behind his dad. He was a big dude he play professional football in the sixties and when he stood in front of the fridge you couldn't see it. So there we were and then I hear this crazy sound that was new sound to me. Jason's dad stopped abruptly and threw his smoke. He turned quickly and said spread out boys. This scared me he was a very clam man. Well the ice was cracking from pressure and the crack came right past us. Boy that was something. Jason had two uncles that lived in Alaska and he went there during his college summers and I was lucky enough to get to follow him for a summer. We fished the Kenai River in a town called Soldtna. It was an amazing experience. It was a sports man paradise and we had a great set up. I could stay awake as long as I wanted there and nobody cared the sun never went down in the summer it was awesome. I do believe the longest amount of time we fished that summer we spent together in one stretch was 57hours strait on the Kenai. Our best scam was our senior year in high school we were allow I think something like 23 excused absences and we used them all to go fishing. We got theses recruiting letters from college football teams that would ask us to visit their campuses and we would use the letters over and over again until we used all of our absences that we could and still graduate. It is because of Jason that I live in the beautiful state of Florida I followed him here when it was time for me to leave NY. To tell you the truth I do believe without my pal Jason my life would not have turned out as it has. Thanks Pal
