Let me begin by thanking my friend D’arcy for getting me started. I am Dave and have been diagnosed as bipolar since I was 22years old which just happens to be the year I stopped playing college football. I am now diagnosed as having CTE which is a terminal brain injury caused by too many concussions. I now am gonna share with you just how I feel about CTE.

It is my belief that it has defined my life. It not about how hard you can hit it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep on going. All I can remember about my first concussion is the smell of dirt and fresh cut grass. There was a burst of green then the sound of a coach or maybe my dad telling me you ok get up. Back then it was called getting your bell rung. Well My bell got rung and it rang often about nine times by the time I made it the Buffalo State College to play Football for the great Bengals of Buffalo State. I don’t regret having played football at all it gave me great pleasure. There are things you can do on the grid iron that would get you arrested if you did them on the street. Every great democracy has a blood sport the Roman’s had the colosseum we have football. Being on a field with ten other guys working towards a common goal was something that I really was into and it was hard work but the rewards were great as well. With this came pain much of it we have all heard it before players play with pain and that’s what we all did we played through. For each other and the team. So having said that I am not looking for anyone to feel sorry for me. I knew what I was doing was dangerous and I liked it that way. So I guess we will start tomorrow with pop warner football in third grade in B’ville NY.
